Sitting Alone

Sitting alone
I realize how much I miss you
I always knew I would
But sitting alone
Really brings it home
That my baby's gone for good.

Can I remember
The first time you said my name?
I can remember
The last--but it wasn't the same.

Sitting where the wind can't blow
Sitting where nobody knows
I'm all alone
So far from home
I'm all alone

I hear a rustle in the trees
Maybe it's just the breeze
I still expect you to appear,
Keep forgetting you're not here
I'm all alone
On my own
All alone

Sitting alone
I realize I forget your laugh
I never thought I could
But sitting alone
Really brings it home
That my baby's gone for good

I can imagine
Turning and seeing your face,
But I can't imagine
How you'd ever find me in this place.

I'm sitting where the wind can't blow
Sitting where nobody knows
Sitting where the wind can't blow
Sitting where nobody knows
I'm all alone
Sitting alone
Far from home
On my own.
